Then as it trundled by I saw the 4.0 badge on the back. Yeah. That’s gonna be on the side of the road pretty soon.
Shortly afterwards a pristine red IROC-Z pulls up and out pops this tiny old lady who looked like her name could have been Pearl or Mable. You know the type.

Not likely. It’s the 4.0. It doesn’t seem to matter how bad these things run. They just keep going.

It’s already on the side of the road.

We have those in Euroland, maybe not the 4.0 but, definitely CRD Cherokees.

Only if it has a BA10/5 transmission.
*thinks about the BA10/5*
*shudders*
*shuddering intensifies*

I don’t know if they were ever sold here in the U.S.

I’ve seen a few up here in canada

It was a post-facelift model, so no BA10/5.

They were, but under the name “Liberty”

Yes but nobody cares about Canada.

It sounded like 4-cyl diesel. And not a modern one.

The only thing killing a 4.0 is an air strike. Even then, it has to be a direct hit.

AMC cylinder deactivation, bro!

Well, that or rod knock.

They had 2.1 Renault diesels at first, then 2.5 VM ones. No 4.0 though.

I know. It was a gasoline I-6 in such bad condition that it sounded like a 4-cyl diesel.

That 4.0 will run like shit longer than most cars run at all.
